Part 4 - The Colorado intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) system and resources

This course offers basic information about

  • Medicaid;
  • Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS);
  • Medicaid Waivers that support citizens with IDD;
  • Single Entry Points;
  • Community Centered Board; and
  • Colorado Arc chapters and other community organizations that help people with IDD.

What to expect

  • Self-paced video slide-based lecture format;
  • The Arc of Aurora's THINK+change team as your trainers;
  • 1.25 hours of content;
  • Closed captioning in English; Spanish subtitles and video recorded American Sign Language interpretation;
  • Multiple downloadable TOOLS; and a
  • Downloadable Certificate of Completion provided via email upon completion of the course.

  • Law enforcement agency personnel; and
  • Victim advocacy professionals.

Special note

This training series was hosted in 2020 and 2021 in partnership with the Office for Victims of Crime, Department of Justice, through the Division of Criminal Justice, Colorado Department of Public Safety on how to best support and interact with victims with developmental disabilities. It was pre-recorded for that targeted audience, and so you will hear us mention the dates 2020 and 2021 during this training. Please disregard this information. We will also speak of mailing TOOLS called Communication Quick Tips and an Every Victim Matters Poster - these mailings were specific to that audience as well. However, you do have the option to order these tangible tools from us for yourself and/or your team.

CLE/CEU

Due to the varying requirements of different organizations and disciplines, THINK+change does not seek prior accreditation of educational courses for CLE/CEUs. Please consult the rules of your organization regarding the procedures of receiving continuing education credits. This course may qualify for up to 1.25 hours of CLE/CEU. The full 4-part training totals 5 hours of online training. You will also receive a digital certificate verifying your completion of each course.
